Potential Customers of MAF Background Screening, one of the companies owned by the Merchants Association of Florida, Inc. is open to all licensed business and professional organizations that meet the standards of our organization. Applications for use of services are subject to careful review and approval to insure that applicants are engaged in legitimate and ethical endeavors
Background screening falls under the federal and state laws covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. MAF Background Screening is fully compliant with all laws and requires a complete application from every customer in order to provide service. All new customers have to go through our normal vetting procedure to be approved. Here are question that may cause an issue:
- Always list your full Company Name as filed with the appropriate government agency.
- List your Doing Business Name in the DBA section.
- Include phone number that can be verified through public sources. If you have a non published (cell) or new phone number; include a copy of your phone bill if in doubt.
- We must be able to verify current trade references with other business to business vendors you currently use. Please provide full contact information on all vendors.
- We must verify a commercial banking relationship, provide proper contact information.
- The same person must sign all agreements and addendums, and is certifying they have the authority to enter into the agreement

REGARDING ACCESS TO CREDIT REPORTING
Note all companies requesting credit will have to undergo an on-site inspection as required by the national credit bureaus providing this service. The charge for this inspection of $70.00 may be assessed on the first billing.
Also review the sample letter of intent and complete your own letter of intent on your letterhead, sign and return with the required forms.
